Daddy Who???

I was in a _____ Clan Lunch yesterday [ one of several clans I belong to ] at Wack-Wack Village and the table talk turned to a recent wedding that some clan members had attended at — where else? — the chichi Santuario de San Antonio Church in posh Forbes Park, Makati City.

It would have been the usual Manila High Society Wedding were it not for the conjectures about the bridegroom’s father, supposedly a former President. The mother was a controversial society beauty who never hid her liaison with the general-turned-President.

According to the attendees, the bridegroom looked very much like the younger sister — a onetime Senator — of the supposed father.

It is currently the talk of the town, at least until a new inane thing comes along… 😛 😛 😛

also, my ex mentioned that the General wouldn’t be a President if it weren’t for the venerable matriarch’s CASSSSHHHHHH. she basically made him.

i was her grandson’s ex girlfriend. she was very nice at first. even called her a social butterfly because she attends so much parties. we had a lot of plans. attend new york’s fashion week, shop at french riviera, etc. but what surprised me was when she talked to me personally. she asked me, “hija kaya mo ba patakbuhin ang pera ng apo ko? P400M neto ang makukuha nya sa akin wala pa ang sa magulang nya. i just want the best for him.”

since then, i became cold towards my beau and decided to partways. i felt violated. i’d rather live peacefully than be with this family. the venerable matriarch can only care about her gold bars from the dictator’s regime. =)

I remember watching the opera “Madama Butterfly” at the CCP during the Cigar General’s presidency. BOTH the Ming Dynasty and the Kabuki Queen were in attendance. Ming Dynasty was with the General while the Kabuki Queen was with daughter R. In addition to an already volatile mix was the presence of Madam* *meldific with daughter IRM-A.

During the intermission, all 3 ladies were standing in the lobby. The General looked very pale during all this.

Hate to say it but ang layo ng ganda ni *melda dun sa dalawa….

    Hi Toto!

I’m back. I was just reading the old comments on this particular post. I couldn’t help but laugh while remembering a story about the colorful Ms. Ar*nas. At the height of her dear one’s administration, she was into a lot of cultural “chuva” (as my other gay friends would say). She wanted to revive? launch? her singing career so she booked the Manila Hotel for a dinner concert featuring herself. A friend had the misfortune of buying a ticket to the concert because she needed to make some government connections, and the best place to find them was where else? But right there at that concert.

The piece de resistance was after listening to the strains of J*y Cay*ca’s violin, it was time to call the lady for her singing debut. In the background, my friend could already hear the piano playing but it seemed the pianist was still adjusting his piano bench. So where was the music coming from? To think, the grand piano was right there…. on stage! Later, there she was, in shining shimmering splendor, walking down the make-shift grand staircase on the stage already singing while the pianist was busily adjusting his chair! Oh my gosh, the director/floor director must have missed out on his cues that the spinner played the music already. She was actually lip synching her supposed aria to the “delight” of the jampacked audience. Even the piano was “lip synched!” When she finished her song, they all clapped with gusto. And to think they paid a handsome amount each for the dinner concert… They probably should have just gotten free tickets to Channel 2’s ASAP or any of these local variety shows where lip synching is a regular occurence!

i remember in one of ms. ar*nas’ interviews (am i allowed to mention names), she was asked a question about her children. i found it that she does sometimes answer in riddles, i remember her saying (ok, i cant remember the exact figures but her answer went like this…): my three boys, two girls and one boy….

i also remember on one occasion at camp crame (i remember being a very “good friend” to a general’s son : ) ) she gave me a picture of herself, very beautiful indeed, with a caption about her being a loyal friend, ally, etc., etc. very sweet. i kept it all these years…

many though sneer behind her back in relation to her charity work… well, all i can say is that at least she does something… i also remember, with amusement, how one government official (i can’t remember who really) issued a statement that whoever watches the pavarotti concert will be arrested!!!

that goes to say how we encourage our public to embrace the arts…

that’s why i miss the renaissance we had during imelda’s reign as queen. even movies — “himala,” “3 taon walang dios,” “jaguar,” “kakabakaba” (comedy), the list goes on — flourished…

it makes me cringe: the films we are making now (the film industry i proclaim is dead…), it makes me cringe what movies we make now, reminiscent of the old, silly, icky films hollywood used to make 60 years ago. i also wonder why we are adapting the studio system at this day and age!!!

imelda, with her proteges, her connection with van cliburn, the international film fests, her artwork purchases from hammermith, etc., etc…

    makes me want to cry…

    merry christmas toto!!!!

It was the talk of the town. But new inane things have come along, as expected…

Mega typhoon “Durian” came and sent all of posh Makati’s Bicolano staff into a panicked frenzy, as families, relatives, and friends instantly disappeared with the unexpected deluge from Mount Mayon. We’re in the international headlines again, for the wrong reasons, as usual.

This is obviously the kabuki lady’s son by “her soldier”, right? And I thought her son was gay! The one-time senator sister you mentioned was also at one time from the diplomatic corps right? Wow…
